CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Introductory Classes
Age ranges below refer to the dancer's age at the start of the season.
Toddler Ballet - 22 months-3 years
Students will love dancing to their favorite music in this fun class that incorporates pre-ballet steps as well as imaginative dance. Students only, no parents in the room.
Minimum 5 students.
Toddler Hip Hop - 22 months-3 years
Students will learn beginning rhythm, hip hop style, and movement designed for toddlers. Students only, no parents in the room.
Minimum 5 students.

Mini Ballet & Tap Combo - 3-5 years
This class incorporates ballet and tap each week, focusing on technique, rhythm, and expressive movements.
Minimum 5 students.
Mini Hip Hop - 3-5 years
Students will learn beginning rhythm, hip hop style, and movement designed for young dancers.
Minimum 5 students.

Junior Ballet & Tap Combo - 5-7 years
Ballet and tap are incorporated each week with the focus on longer and gradually more difficult combinations to challenge the child in technique, concentration, balance, and movement.
Minimum 5 students.
Junior Jazz - 5-7 years
Learn classical jazz technique and combinations at the beginning level in this high energy class. Emphasis is placed on beginning jazz curriculum including rhythm, flexibility, and technique. Students also learn leaps, turns, and jumps. (Students must be enrolled in a Junior Ballet & Tap Combo class as well.)
Minimum 5 students.
Junior Hip Hop - 5-7 years
This class builds upon the curriculum taught at the Mini Hip Hop level. Students learn the foundational levels of rhythm, hip hop style, and movement. Students also work on overall flexibility and athleticism.
No concurrent enrollment necessary.
Minimum 5 students.
Junior Musical Theatre - 5-7 years
Come explore musicals, singing & musical theatre choreography through the ages and grow in your knowledge of theatre topics including dance styles, acting, & rehearsal etiquette. *Showcase performance will be sung without microphones, along with the track.
No concurrent enrollment required, but jazz is strongly recommended.
Minimum 5 students.
Pre-Teen & Teen Ballet & Tap Combo - 8+ years
This is the perfect class for older students just starting out in dance. Students are taught beginning dance with students their own age. Beginning ballet and tap are incorporated each week with a focus on learning combinations and choreography.
Minimum 5 students. Maximum 16 students.
Adult Combo
Adult Combo classes include various styles of dance and movement. There is also an option to perform. Build your confidence in movement! No experience necessary.
Maximum 16 participants.
Intermediate/Advanced Classes
Ballet 1-5 - 8+ years
Builds upon our pre-ballet curriculum each week with more difficult combinations to challenge the child in technique, concentration, balance, and movement. Leaps, turns, and barre are incorporated each week. Director recommendation required. Ballet 4 & 5 meet twice per week.
Minimum 6 students, Maximum 16 students.

Tap/Jazz 1-2 - 8+ years
These classes build upon our introductory tap & jazz curriculum. more difficult combinations to challenge the student in technique, concentration, choreography, movement, with a focus on leaps, and turns. Director recommendation required.
Minimum 6 students, Maximum 16 students.

Jazz 3-5 - 10+ years
These classes introduce intermediate and advanced jazz curriculum with the goal of mastering all elements of jazz technique. More difficult combinations to challenge the student in technique, concentration, choreography, movement, with a focus on leaps and turns. Director recommendation required.
Minimum 6 students, Maximum 16 students.

Tap 3-5 - 10+ years
This class introduces intermediate and advanced tap curriculum with the goal of mastering all elements of tap technique. More difficult combinations to challenge the student in technique, coordination, concentration, choreography, and movement. Director recommendation required.
Minimum 6 students, Maximum 20 students.

Hip Hop 1-4 - 8+ years, 11+ years
Students will learn beginning rhythm, hip hop style, and movement. Higher levels add on more challenging movements while all students work on flexibility and athleticism. No concurrent enrollment necessary. Director recommendation required for HH2+.
Minimum 6 students, Maximum 16 students.
Contemporary/Lyrical 1-4 - 8+ years, 11+ years
Our Contemporary/Lyrical classes combine ballet, jazz, and modern dance styles. Students will learn to create inspired movements that express deep emotions. Choreography, facial expression, fluidity, strength, and grace are emphasized. Students must be enrolled in a Ballet class as well. Director recommendation required for CL2+.

Musical Theatre 1-4 - 8+ years, 11+ years
Come explore musicals and musical theatre choreography through the ages and grow in your knowledge of theatre topics including dance styles, acting, rehearsal etiquette, and auditioning. *Showcase performance is sung live. No concurrent enrollment required, but jazz is strongly recommended.
Director recommendation required for MT2+.

Hula 1 - 8+ years
Hula 1 introduces students to the traditional storytelling dance of Hawaiʻi. Throughout the season, dancers will learn basic footwork, fluid hip movements, and graceful hand gestures that express elements of nature and emotion. Weekly classes provide a wonderful blend of cultural tradition, gentle fitness, and community connection.
Girls in Hula will need to purchase the required-for-class custom Pa’u skirt for $40 from Legacy.
Maximum 16 students
Pre-Pointe/ Pointe Strengthening - 10+ years
Pre-pointe classes are for students interested in furthering their ballet training with a desire to dance “En Pointe”. Development of core muscles, feet, and leg strength will be emphasized along with balance and proper form.
Dancers who are already en pointe may choose to take this class to strengthen for pointe work.
*Dancers must also be enrolled in Ballet 2 or higher.
*In order to take the Pointe Assessment for entry into Pointe 1,, dancers must have had at least one year of Pre-Pointe.
Minimum 6 students, Maximum 16 students.

Pointe 1/Pointe 2 - 12+ years
Pointe 1 is the introductory class to pointe work with emphasis on building strength and technique in pointe shoes mostly at the barre with some work center floor and across the floor.
Pointe 2 introduces intermediate pointe technique.
Must pass the Pointe Assessment and have Director recommendation to enroll.
*In order to take the Pointe Assessment, dancers must have had at least one year of Pre-Pointe.
Minimum 6 students, Maximum 16 students.
Conditioning/Non-Performing Classes
DanceFit - 10+ years
This non-performing DanceFit conditioning class is open to current 26-27 season students enrolled in Ballet, Jazz, or Tap 1-5. DanceFit is charged as a once/year payment that includes unlimited classes. Each class will be different, focusing on general dance fitness and strength.
Classes are held on Wednesdays (typically twice per month) and Saturdays (typically once per month). See the season calendar for this year's scheduled dates.

BARRE + Barre Fusion - 18+ years

PILATES + HUMAN REFORMER - 18+ years
Human Reformer® Get a Reformer workout with the Reformer!
Human Reformer is a Pilates-inspired, low-impact group fitness workout that simulates traditional reformer machine exercises using resistance bands, a Pilates mat, and other small props. It focuses on core strength, control, and muscle endurance, allowing participants to act as their own resistance anchor. These classes are perfect for those wanting the benefits of reformer Pilates without needing expensive or bulky equipment. The class is highly adaptable, low-impact, and gentle on joints.
Minimum 5 students.

Mat Pilates - 18+ years
Mat Pilates is a strengthening and lengthening form of exercise that focuses on your core (trunk) muscles while also training your arms and legs. Mat Pilates is based on the original exercises Joseph Pilates developed to strengthen his own body as a young man. Pilates Mat work originated before the creation of any Pilates equipment or “machines” used in the practice today and includes over 500 exercises that can be practiced anywhere. Mat Pilates can be modified for any age, body, or fitness level.
Minimum 5 students.
Mini-Session Classes
Age 2-3 Ballet
Students will love dancing to their favorite music in this fun class that incorporates pre-ballet steps as well as imaginative dance. Students only, no parents in room.
Mini Ballet/Tap Combo (age 3-6)
This class incorporates ballet and tap each week, focusing on technique, rhythm, and expressive movements.
Dance Sampler (age 7+)
This class will try a new dance style each class! Dance styles may include: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Ballet barre work. This is a great class for current students who are interested in adding an elective class next season, as well as new students who just want a taste of all that the world of dance can offer! No experience required.

Homeschool PE Dance Class
Get your body moving while dancing in this energetic movement class geared toward kids who are home during the day. We’ll be dancing with these styles and more: hip hop, party dances, jazz and across the floor technique.
